6 Diets Meant for You
by Dorthy Weatherbush
It's no secret that the number one New Year's Resolution every year is
to lose weight. It's often times easier said than done, unless you have
a proposed course of action. In order to have a course of action,
you have to be informed on the do's and don'ts of weight loss. The
following are some basic facts about different diets that are
popular. Every one of these diets may not work for you, but you
can learn about them and determine which one might best work with your
personal situation.
1. The
Medifast Diet Plan. Medifast allows you to choose five small meals
daily from 60 choices including delicious soups, stew, chili, shakes,
drinks, desserts, and snacks. Many are even suitable for vegetarians.
You will also get one Lean Green Meal per day. This consists of 5-7
ounces of lean meat and a salad or choice of three vegetable servings
on the side. Medifast meals are delivered right to your door for utmost
convenience.
2. South Beach Diet. The South Beach Diet is perfect for the individual
who desperately does not want to part with his carbs. This diet teaches
you the difference between good carbs and bad carbs. Eating good
carbohydrates are encouraged and allow you to enjoy good-tasting,
satisfying food and still lose weight!
3. Atkins Diet. The Atkins diet is almost the opposite of
the South Beach diet, calling for you to get rid of all carbohydrates
from you diet. Instead, it wants you to eat lean meats, proteins,
fruits, nuts, and veggies. You can eat a variety of shakes and
bars that the Atkins brand creates to add a little spice. In addition,
the diet doesn't require that you give up red meat or dairy products so
you can still eat these.
4. The Oprah Diet. This is also known as Bob Greenes Best Life Diet.
Its actually not a diet at all; it is a lifestyle change that includes
healthy eating and regular physical activity. There is no calorie
counting, simply making smart food choices, and watching portion size.
Rather than immediately depriving yourself of your favorite junk foods,
they are slowly phased out of your diet and replaced with healthy
alternatives.
5. Master Cleanse. The Master Cleanse is not really a diet, but more of
a fast used to get rid of
toxins that can be harmful to your body. The cleanse is a
10-45 day cleanse, depending on how long your body will allow you to
stay on it. It requires you to drink lemonade made with fresh
lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup and water. This option is
truly a battle of wills, as you try and convince yourself to stay on
the diet. It is difficult, but the benefits are worth it if you
are looking to lose a quick 10-15 pounds.
6. Just Add Water. If any of the above diet plans seems like a
lot to you, always remember that if you just add more water to your
diet, you will notice lots of difference in your weight, and in the way
you feel. Drinking up to and more than 2 liters per day will decrease
your hunger, and will also help you get rid of toxins and waste from
your body. Carry a bottle with you wherever you go. You will be sure to
look and feel better in no time.
No matter what diet works for you, it is important to remember that if
you want to lose weight and keep it off you will need to make changes
to your lifestyle. Going back to your old unhealthy eating habits will
just result in the pounds coming back. Make changes for the better this
year and improve the quality of your life today.
